Cells

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 12:03 PM

These cells may be too good to eat.

I made an animal cell and plant cell model for my class that I am teaching.

I am sure it may serve a dual purpose for teaching my children too.

Do you know which one is the animal cell and which one is the plant cell?

Living Room

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:27 AM

This is my new photo wall in my living room.

Of which I love.

Page took the pictures and made the frames.

You might want to know what goes on these days while I am teaching 2 hours on Monday and Wednesday nights.

A little of this.

And a little of well, that.

I think I had an epiphany today (at the zoo of all places).

There has been lots of whining, wailing, and gnashing of teeth by 2 of 3 children lately.

The two being the youngest.

I think it is revolt to a new routine.

Yes, mommy teaching 2 nights a week.

See two sweet somethings, that well, to say nicely have not been so sweet.

Instead it has been kind of.........hmmmm......wearisome.  Yes, difficult.

It is burdensome, the change of routine, missing my babies while gone for a couple hours.

Yes, I like routine.

But I think those little ones have fun, maybe too much fun, while mommy is at class.

Maybe Page is a bit more fun????

My sweet peas, it will be fine and we will all adjust......just know mommy loves you very much!

Math Love Notes!

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 9:39 AM

I must admit.  I love getting love notes.

Today, while a little boy was doing his math lesson, he wrote me a note.

I had walked away to get breakfast ready.

I came back and in his workbook next to his lesson was this love note.

I kind of like that I got the first love note in his years of schooling and not some other girl!

I guess that is another bonus of home schooling!

Oh, I LOVE him!

Thank you my Kiah bear!

Prayers

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, January 21, 2011 at 5:30 PM

When I was delivering little Magpie, Page and I were in the delivery room and her heart rate was sporadic.

I remember the doctor telling me that something was not right.

I was scared.

It was just Page and I and we cried out to God on behalf of our little girl.

We prayed for a safe delivery.  We did not know what was going on.

I was scared.

The doctor said, "If this was your first pregnancy I would have already gone for a C-section."

I was scared, but I prayed and I turned to my God.

But I was still worried, I was still scared, but I knew God was with me in that hospital room.

I knew he heard my prayers.

This little girl, right now she is crying in her room, she is suppose to be asleep....for some reason she thinks it's cute to come out of her room?

(This is a new phase........I hope it ends soon)!

But yesterday, I was not feeling so hot.

I taught Kiah his math, reading, etc., then I took Eli to preschool felt alright, but came home to read Hezekiah his history and got through it, but then I had to lie down on the couch.

I pretty much felt like I had been ran over by a HUGE truck.

Magpie comes over to me.......she gives me her blankie, she gives me her babies, she walks over to play with her Aquadoodles and I hear her pray, "Help my mommy feel better, Amen."

Okay, so I started to cry...........how sweet it is to hear a prayer out of a 2 1/2 year old's little mouth.  And she is praying for me?

Oh, how precious and sweet are the words of a child.

Thank you Lord for the witnessing of a little one praying for me, her Mommy!

What a blessing!

Ben 10 - Aliens

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 10:36 AM

Eli has been making aliens all week.  He has been adding to his picture everyday.

I have been asked to assist with certain features.

I must say that I am getting pretty good at creating some aliens too.

I am also doing better at remembering all the 10 Aliens that Ben can change into.

See there has been a little bit of Ben 10 fan fair here.

Two little boys that I know like the show.

So therefore I, Mommy, learn the aliens too.  I think gray matter is my favorite.

Water Wheel

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 10:31 AM

This morning the boys made a water wheel.

We learned how water can generate power.

We also learned about water pressure.

By using a bottle and poking three holes in it (from top to bottom) to see which hole would have a more powerful stream of water pouring out.

A Little Rainy Day Nap

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:51 AM

Guess what I found in my bed this afternoon?

A little 5 year old.

We have not had a thunderstorm in the afternoon for a long time.

This little 5 year old does not take many naps anymore.

It was super quiet, during "quiet time."

Not so, so often.

I open the door to see little Eli asleep, with britches and shumb shumb.

Oh, to be 5......and still take naps.

The Face of Victory - Pit - 31 - Balt - 24

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 5:49 PM

Here is Page at the beginning of the game.....thanks to my brother and his fiancee Elizabeth, Page has a new Steelers Gnome and Potato Head.

Somehow they have found a home perched upon my TV armoire.

Here is Page at half time 21 Baltimore to 7 Pittsburgh.  A little worried?

Here is Page with one minute left in the game in the 4th quarter!

I smell victory!

Oh Yeah BABY!

The FACE OF VICTORY!

Not the smell of defeat!

Added Steelers Flair

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 5:43 PM

Steeler Flair Cookies!  Little footballs with yellow laces.

Steelers and Aqua Doodles?  Why not?

Steelers and swings?  Sure!

We were ready for some FOOTBALL!!!!

We made cookies during the game so Page AKA Daddy could watch the game!

Pre-game Practice

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 5:37 PM

After decorating, tailgating, it's time for a little pre-game practice.

Someone had to change to a Colts jersey......no names mentioned here.

We ran for touchdowns.

A little touchdown spike and dance.

Dance.

Dance.

They can shake it! :)
