The Diaries of a Flag Football Experience

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 6:12 PM

This is our first experience with any organized sport other than swimming and it has been a terrific experience.

I have so enjoyed watching our boys learn how to play flag football.  And I have enjoyed reconnecting with some old students and co-workers and friends.  The boys are really enjoying themselves.  And today when we were finished Hezekiah came over and smiled and he said, "I played my first game!"  It was so adorable and I will let you in why it was so adorable in a minute.

First let me tell you about our resident touchdown scorer..........his name is Eli!  He scored a couple touchdowns today in his first flag football game.  He is so cute catching that ball and running with that huge orange mouth guard in his mouth.

Let me in on another thing I enjoy and love about ROAR, the time the kids get to spend in prayer and a time of devotion.  Not only reflecting on the sport, but time to reflect upon God.

Now let's look at our next resident flag football player, Hezekiah.  He played offense and defense today.  He also rearranged orange cones, wandered off away from all other team mates, walked over to La La land, and stayed focused most of the time while he was on the field.  The time off the field, let's just say he had other things and doings on his mind.  All in all, the last picture here kind of sums up his day.  Oh, he is so cute!  He cracks me up..........especially when he ends his day with a huge smile and says with excitement, "I just played my first game!"  It's hard not to love him!

We are certainly blessed to live near the wonderful ministry of ROAR Sports at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Maggie Beth went to the library at her preschool today, when she got in the car, she said, "They put a stamp on my book, and taught us how to check them out........but I already know how to do that. I have a cash register." Crack me up! They must have had a little scanner to scan her book. She cracks me up.......'little miss know it all!

Dear Fall,

I am glad you are here.

I love decorating for your season!

I love that my birthday resides around your arrival!

I am thankful that we were able to fill our day with all things you, Fall!

Especially since I needed to fill time with fun to keep our minds off Page, AKA Daddy, going to Arizona for work.

Thank you Fall, now bring the cooler temps!

Your dearest friend and fan of your colors..........GBP!

Today the boys tried their hand at flag football.  They are going to play on Saturdays for the next 6-7 weeks with ROAR.

Today they just practiced skills.  The boys had a good time and really enjoyed themselves.

Pack meeting - nutrition

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, September 14, 2012 at 6:03 PM

Tonight the boys had a pack meeting and it was all on nutrition.

This was Eli's first official Pack meeting, he has been to a couple den meetings already.

The kids had a great time playing all the games that the den leaders came up with.

And the little guys are so adorable in their uniforms.
