Special Delivery -- Post Office Trip

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:14 AM

Mail carrier 101.
Official mail carrier bags.  (Poor Eli was sick so he stayed at home with Page, he came home from work & gave up his lunch plans so Hezekiah and Maggie could go.....what a great dad and husband!).
Behind the scenes of the P.O. Boxes.
Above are the mail slots for your mail, prior to being at your home mailbox.
Today we took a little trip to the post office to see what goes on behind the scenes.
We learned how the mail gets sorted and put into little slots with the address to be picked up by the mail carriers.
The kids got to sit in a real mail truck and each kid received a mail carrier bag, a pin, and a commemorative stamp of Alan Shepherd the first man in space.

Maggie Beth writes her name!

"Did you put sleep medicine on your lips?"

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 5:30 PM

I just went in my boys bedroom to give them goodnight kisses.

Hezekiah said after I gave him his huggies and kissies, "Did you put sleep medicine on your lips?  Because after you kiss me I feel sleepy."

So adorable.  Oh, I love the things my kids say.............so sweet.

And thank you Grandma for the cool custom-made Captain America costume (as seen above), Hezekiah loves it!

Maggie Beth loves her dress a-like doll outfit, and of course Eli love his P.J.'s.

Here are pictures of a baby shower cake I made this weekend for a friend's shower.

Day 5 -- No matter where you go -- Trust God

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:13 AM

We added a little pink & purple to our hair this morning for the last day at VBS!

Actually the girls in the other group (that travel with us) yesterday gave me the memo that today was going to be 80's Day!

So, hair coloring sounded a bit 80's to me.  At least I do remember putting purple in my hair in the 80's to go to the movie theater.

And I remember lots of fluorescent colors.

So some boys chose with color.

Some boys chose without color.

All the girls chose color.

(Eli chose no color......his group is getting ready for the Slip n Slide)

That is until the slip n slide.......then all color disappeared.

(The little preschool class just all lined up and watched the older kids on the slip n slide........they were soooo cute!)

Today the kids learned about Jesus returning after his death to help his friends catch fish.  Our verse today was Joshua 1:9, Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go!

Just as Jesus was with His disciples and told them where to fish.

Day 4 -- No matter what happens -- Trust God

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:33 AM

Early morning shot near the clouds!  Excited, but a wee bit sleepy!

Our crew has added a couple new members!  They are all sweet boys!

During games, I got to see Maggie Beth enjoying the balancing beam today!

Today we learned about Jesus dying for our sins and raising up from the grave.  Our Bible Buddy was Apollo who helped teach us that nothing can separate us from the love of God.  No matter what happens.............Trust God!

Day 3 -- No matter what other people do -- Trust God

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11:29 AM

Today our crew learned about trusting in God even when other people are not nice to us.

Our verse was Isaiah 40:31, but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Our crew went on a scavenger hunt looking for clues to see what happened to Jesus when the Roman soldiers (who were not nice to Him) took him from the Garden of Gethsemane.

The kids also made ice cream floats, to remember to soar like eagles.

Day 2 VIBE - No matter how I feel, I can trust God

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 4:29 PM

Maggie Beth is enjoying VIBE!  I do not get many pictures of her, since she is with the preschoolers!

Eli is also in a different group but I manage to get some pictures when he is in the pew in front of me and in passing in the hallway!

Today we learned that we can trust in God no matter how we feel.

Above is Eli with his crew!

We learned about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.  Our Lazarus just so happened to have shades!

The kids created their own t-shirts!

And their snack was made of blue jello hearts (sad hearts), and then whip cream to comfort the heart, and the strawberry = God's love to warm the heart.  Too cute!
