Evening at the Beach

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Monday, May 30, 2011 at 6:55 PM

This evening we spent at Spessard Holland Beach.

We met some really special friends there that we have known for a long time.

So long that we use to hang out late in the evenings playing silly games, prior to children.

Thanks Rice's and White's! :)  We love you guys!  Thanks for sharing the beautiful evening with us!

HERO FACTORY

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:56 AM

The other morning I had the chance to just sit.  Sit at the request of a 5 year old.

I asked Eli, "What would you like to play today?"

Eli, "Mommy, can you just sit and watch me build my Hero Factory guys?"

Me, "Certainly."

So, I sat for an hour watching Eli build baby Hero Factory guys, then create Heroes that have parts switched out, take them apart and build more and we talked about each hero and their powers.  Maggie Beth would plop down and watch for a little while, run away and play with Hezekiah and run back and plop down again.  It's definitely moments like these that I treasure.  Sometimes the days seem to pass by with busyness.  I am thankful for the days where we get to just sit and play.

Piano Lessons

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 6:25 PM

I am probably the last person in our family you would expect to be musical.

Because I am not.

But I did take piano lessons decades ago.  (Uhhh, that makes me sound really old.....but it is true).

I remember a thing or two about the piano.

So I have decided to take it upon myself to teach a tid bit to the kids.

If they take to it maybe I will then pay someone to teach them, someone more musical than I.

I have also been using my old piano books.

With my little elementary school handwriting.

It is kind of fun to look back at them and tell the kids that is how mommy wrote letters when she was little.

Lost Tooth

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 6:18 PM

Missing tooth?

Eli had a wiggly bottom tooth for a couple weeks now.

I would try and check it every now and then to see if it was ready to come out, but he would only let me look every so often.

So last night at dinner I noticed his tooth was gone.

No where in sight.

The tooth is M.I.A.

So, Eli wrote a note to the tooth fairy.

Kindly, she obliged.

So if you find a tooth, it might be Eli's.

And no, we did not send it home with anyone this time in a baggie of M&M's.

Stepping Stones

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Monday, May 23, 2011 at 4:32 PM

This morning we made some stepping stones.

Probably the coolest part was wearing the face mask and wearing the plastic gloves according to my boys.

I wondered if anyone driving by might think we had the plague.  Ha ha ha!

We had fun, Maggie Beth actually spent the most time on  her stepping stone and her and Eli helped me make the heart stones while Hezekiah adventured around the yard.

Gone Fishing

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 5:14 PM

The boys in the house were up at 6:30 a.m. to go fishing.

The girls.......sleeping.

After Page got home with Hezekiah and Eli from their morning of fishing, also known as, building a sand fort, Maggie says, "I don't want to go fishing because I get freaked out!"

Page said, "What freaks you out?"

Maggie Beth says, "Tiger sharks, are freaking me out!"

I had a dream last night

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 12:12 PM

I often hear these words at the breakfast table in the morning.  "I had a dream last night about......," then lots of laughing.

This morning was no different.

Hezekiah said, "Last night I had a dream that I was sitting on a duck egg. And the duck thought I was his dad."

I, half awake, just started laughing.

Eli dreamed that we were in the car and there was a superhero toy in our car, and nothing else happened.

I really enjoy hearing what they dream about.  It usually makes my mornings, since I am not a morning person.

A Princess & Apparently Chili's New Dress Code

Our birthday girl received some princess attire for her big day.  Tonight we went out to dinner and apparently Chili's has a new dress code.
