The Serpentarium - St. Cloud, Florida

CHSF took a trip to the Serpentarium in St. Cloud.  We always drive past the Serpentarium, had never been, always wondered what magnificent creatures resided there, and we got the opportunity this week to experience reptiles in a new light.  The boys just started their studies on reptiles, learning about snakes.  This was perfect timing.

As we entered we saw these slithery creatures, sticking out their tongues at us.  Once inside the darkened hallways of the Serpentarium I heard lots of, "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy, Oh my goodness, you have got to see this!"  And no I really did not want to see "this" but I did.  I witnessed a python eating a rabbit, a whole rabbit.  Crazy.

We learned also about accidental bites, such as the loss of a finger, and also many venomous bites that the snake handlers have experienced.  Not really my cup of tea.

We also got to watch the snake handlers milk the snakes for venom.  It was exciting and scary for the handlers.  Thankfully there are glass windows to protect us from venomous snakes, because they did drop an albino cobra.  Yes, dropped it.  Insanity!

Page meets Chewy & The Boardwalk

One great thing about Disney is that you not only can go visit the parks, but you can visit their amazing resort properties.  We have found some fun places to play and look around, as well as eat.  At the Dolphin, the restaurant The Fountain is a really nice place to eat, they have an amazing buffalo chicken salad. We went to Hollywood Studios to introduce Page to Chewy, and see the Star Wars area.  But we also went over to the Boardwalk and the Dolphin hotel.

Animal Kingdom

We went to Animal Kingdom to check out the ungulates for Hezekiah and Eli, they had been studying them in science, we saw them on the Safari.  The Safari is my favorite other than Mt. Everest at Animal Kingdom.

We also got to see the Lion King show.

We rode Everest and the Dino Rama.  If you know anything about my boys they really are into the Big Foot and Yeti and so checking out the Yeti "artifacts" are always lots of fun.  Plus Mt. Everest is my favorite of the Disney roller coasters.

Eli has found out that he likes RICE!

And the photos of the ungulates............
