To get to really know someone you need to spend time with them. 

To get to know them to the core of what makes them, them.

I am sure if we allowed ourselves the time to actually get to know others we

would really probably like them.

Instead a lot of us plan, plan, plan and keep busy so we do not even have the time to even spend getting do know each other. 

I enjoy spending time with my family.  I enjoy spending time with friends and even people I may not really know.  I love learning those details about my children's faces, their dreams, their likes/dislikes.  Their quirkiness!

I smiled watching these three kiddos share a tire swing ride this morning.

Their laughs, giggles, blood-curdling screams.  Spending time together was fun.  Their spending an experience together was fun. 

But sometimes spending time together can drive you crazy or not feel so good.

After a few spins on that 'ol tire swing Hezekiah felt a little woozy. 

As a parent, some days are difficult, disciplining, disciplining, whining, screaming, you know those not so fun times - when you feel like you are spinning your wheels yourself.  When you desperately call out to God for His wisdom!  Those times when you do not seem quite as effective -- I am not telling you all anything new.  Sometimes even though I love, love, love spending time with my kiddos I selfishly desire mommies day outs groups for mom's of homeschoolers.  Just a break.  Because some days are more difficult than others & sometimes you just need that break to appreciate again what you have been blessed with - that time together.   Those opportunities to enjoy what God has created. 

So here is my challenge for you today or question:

Who have you enjoyed getting to know lately because you have spent time together? 

Has your perception of them changed?  

What did you learn about them?
