James The Red Engine

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Sunday, August 31, 2008 at 11:28 AM

It has been a busy week, with Hezekiah going back to preschool this
week. The first day after his day at school he got into the car and
yelled, "Mommy, I growed crocodiles today!" Then on Thursday he said,
"Mommy, I want to go to school for 100 days!" He goes 3 days a week
from 9-12, and he is really really enjoying it!

Page took some cute pictures of Maggie too, that I had to share.

Eli and Hezekiah also had an interesting argument I thought I would
share. I was making dinner the other night so Page had parenting
duty.......which I guess we both have, but it is easier for him to take
care of the disagreements between children while I am cooking than me
take care of the squabbles. So I was cooking and then out of the family
room I hear both boys crying and screaming over a toy. Well, it happens
to be James the Red Engine. Now, thanks to grandma we have 2 James.
So, Page is like, "Guys, come on we have 2 James' and they are the
same. Hezekiah you can have one and Eli can have one." Hezekiah
protests, "No, but my James has eyebrows." Page is like, "What? Now
come on, let me see those James'." So Page picks up both of the James
the Red Engine cars and to no avail, one James does have eyebrows and
the other does not. Can you believe it? So, if you did not notice the
difference in the picture above.........check it out. Some poor person
making James left off the eyebrows.........I am surprised it even passed
inspection. It truly amazes me that my children study their toys to
that extent.........knowing every little detail. So Eli now wants the
one with eye brows too, so Page gets out a black magic marker to put eye
brows on it and he is successful, but then Eli changes his mind. Page
said he had to wipe off the eye brows with his spit! So, it was so
funny........Eli woke up and the next morning and he said, "Mommy, my
James gots ouw bwows." The things you do for your children.

Eli, when we give him kisses lately asks, "Whys yous give two people kisses?" Meaning, "Why do you give people kisses?" It is so adorable. We told him well we give people kisses because we love them! What a peanut. We love you Elijah Blain Phelps!

T.S. Fay Flooding Pictures

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 6:54 AM

Here are some pictures of the flooding, 2 of the pictures are of a park
that we sometimes go to, completely underwater. The truck is at 192 and
Dairy Road. The car with the water almost to the hood is on the other
side of our neighborhood in Bel-Aire Palms. The other picture is right
in front of our driveway. We are hoping the tropical storm will
continue to move away!

T.S. FAY FUN

Here are some activities to keep us busy during the storm, spoon races
and dressing up in Daddy's clothes.

Star Chart

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 4:14 PM

This is how we spent the day, it was sooo very rainy. I really hope it does not rain much more tomorrow, since our backyard looks like it a swimming pool, the rain is up past the slide, so if you were to slide down it you would end up in the water. The water is also up to the glider so a lot higher than the previous picture on the blog. So hopefully Tropical Storm Fay will not dump anymore on us.

Our Star Chart is for the boys room, they earn stars each night they go to bed without talking, playing, making lots of noise, etc. So hopefully visually seeing how many stars they have will help. When they receive 10, they get a special treat. The other pictures are of their artwork today and their cookies.

Tropical Storm Fay - Play in Rain

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 1:18 PM

To keep busy during this rainy day we painted wooden pictures, made
chocolate chip cookies, and played for a bit in the rain. That is
Hezekiah played in the rain and Eli hung out in the garage.

THE MUSEUM & 3 MONTHS

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 11:43 AM

Today Maggie Beth is 3 months old! What a peanut! And I believe she
grew overnight. She is such a tall baby, and she is finally filling out
in her cheeks and her little thighs. Oh, she is so beautiful, just a
smiley little girl. I also love how she enjoys getting her mommy all
wet during her baths. She is such a kicker, Janet Evans beware!

We also had an adventure to the Brevard Art and Science Museum.
Hezekiah, Eli, Maggie and I decided that today would be a good day to
visit the museum. Hezekiah really wanted to see dinosaur bones (I
warned him that there may not be bones). However, when we got there and
I asked about the Science part of the museum........they had
discontinued it???? There goes Science day............but I wonder
why? Anyhow, we had just as much fun looking at the Art exhibits. This
wonderful lady took us around to practically each exhibit and talked to
the boys about each piece of art. I think Hezekiah knows more about
portraits, texture, collages, abstract than most 4 1/2 year
olds...........it turned out to be a lot of fun. To begin with,
however, I was a bit scared because of course you are not to touch
anything and well being almost 3 and 4 1/2, that is a tough thing to
learn and also having walking feet!!! But after many warnings to not
touch, it was as if there was a magic screen around each
item.........Hezekiah would go to touch, but it was if I was watching
his little brain work, "No, no I may not touch it." A learning process
it was. They also got to do their own artwork, Hezekiah a portrait of
himself and a picture of a woodcarving he saw and Eli made a beautiful
picture too and they are on display at the Art Museum for your enjoyment
pleasure! Later, down the street there is a art classroom area and this
was so much more practical for my boys, they could play LEGOS, roll
balls and color. So it really was not the day I had expected at the
Museum.........I was looking for Science Time, but Art Time was just as
great!

M is for Maggie

This little dress is so adorable. A lady from our church who recently
moved away made it for Maggie prior to meeting little Maggie outside the
womb. I just love the photos! Enjoy!

I got my library card today!

Phelps Phans!

We prepared for the Olympic opening ceremonies last evening with our
T-shirts, and onesie! I am so excited about watching the Olympic
events! Especially the swimming. Of course, since our last name is
Phelps, we cannot deny our need to cheer on a fellow Phelps! We hope he
wins all Gold Medals!

Chocolate Cake Olympics

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 10:48 AM

We made chocolate cake today and Olympic ring pictures! Hezekiah told me he is going to be a swimmer in the Olympics or drive monster jams in the Olympics. We also went swimming in the pool.......which we usually do once a day or play on the swing set AKA Park as Eli would say.

Wuz yous favowite cowor?

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 11:50 AM

Eli, my love. Eli is sweet, adorable, yet oh so rotten. But he is our cuddle bug. We love how he sucks his thumb and either has his sheep blankies in tow or my P.J. bottoms. Yes, my P.J. britches..........one morning he was attached to my calve sucking his thumb holding onto my P.J. bottoms. He said, "Mommy you are soft." I asked him if he wanted them, because it is difficult lifting a 35 pound 2 year old around on one leg. Eli said, "Uh huh." So, he now is the proud owner of my P.J.'s. Another thing I adore about my Eli is how he will grab my cheeks with each of his hands and smoosh my cheeks together and look into my eyes and say, "Wuz yous favowite cowor (favorite color)?" He means what is the color of your eyes. And I say, "Green." He says, "My favowite cowor is blue." The color of his eyes. Oh, he is something else.
