On our way back home we stopped by
Harbour Branch Oceanographic Institute.
That is a Megalodon tooth Maggie is holding.
HBOI is very close to the Smithsonian Marine Science Center.
We did not have a ton of time, but we watched a video on the research that HBOI does, then the kids explored more touch tanks, played with a microscope, and magnified their hair, shells, and mermaid capsules.
Maggie Beth also explored the back bone of a Sperm whale and we looked at some skulls of whales and dolphins.
We also got to see a couple tanks where they raise fish for aquaculture.
