Today I auditioned for Survivor!  I stood in line for 4 hours to do a 1 minute video tape of myself to tell the producers why I should be on Survivor!  I talked for the entire minute somehow and was able to round it out with a conclusion at the end.  It was insane!  I was so excited!  But let me tell you how awesome my family is!  They all went with me, they stood in line with me, then I sent them to eat lunch and also sent them off to the Exploration Tower in Cape Canaveral while I waited in line!  And I waited in line, and I waited in line for 4 hours!!!!  Did I tell you I waited in line for 4 hours.  That must tell you that I really love this show!  Ha!  I met other people in line, they were from all over hours and hours away.  I thankfully only traveled 45 minutes.  The people I met in line, we have already decided that we would be in an alliance if we got picked and we also talked about our love for Survivor and our favorite Survivors.

Page took the kids over to the Exploration Tower in Cape Canaveral to have a look about.  They could see all the Cruise ships and played with some interactive exhibits, as well as tried to drive a simulator ship from the Coast Guard.

Strawberry Girl and Boys

We went strawberry picking this morning up in Mims, FL.  We picked strawberries there a few, maybe 5 years ago.  Maggie has been reading Strawberry Girl, a book about Birdie who lives in Marion County, FL in the late 1800's.  Birdie and her family tell of their struggles with new neighbors, growing crops (strawberries), and dealing with the Florida heat.  It is similar to Little House on the Prairie (if you enjoy those type of pioneer stories).  The story tells of how they grew strawberries, so we returned to the strawberry fields because of literature, but also because it is fun to pick your own delicious strawberries.
