A Decade of Hezekiah

At 9:35 a.m. 10 years ago I was at the hospital having a precious little boy.  Hezekiah was so tiny.  He was only 5 pounds and 15 ounces,  and he would not eat.  He would just happily sit in our arms and look at us.  His little legs and arms were just sticks.  I love the picture above and the amazing size difference between Page's hand and Hezekiah's.   Hezekiah's little diapers were just too big, I think he wet everything those first few weeks home.  The whole being a mommy thing was a new experience for me!  I had no idea what I was doing and still wonder if I am doing anything right at all.  I honestly cannot believe it has been 10 years.  The feeling I am experiencing is that time is fleeting.  And I do not want to miss any more of that "time." I want to lasso it and stretch it out.  I have decided that I need to take advantage of every opportunity to play!    Oh, little Hezekiah!  We love you!  Happy birthday baby!!!

The Cake "10"

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 12:42 PM

For the first time in a long while I did not make the birthday cake for this little guy.  He wanted an ice cream cake, so I was off the hook!  It was a great choice, a Reese's cup ice cream cake.

We started singing "Happy Birthday" and Hezekiah started hamming it up like he was the one singing.  He is so cute and silly!

The Temple of Olive Garden - Birthday Party

Hezekiah is turning 10, Christmas Eve.  We always try to celebrate a couple weeks early, just to make it special for him.  I cannot believe I am going to have a child in double digits!  So this birthday he requested dinner at Olive Garden with an Indiana Jones theme.  He invited 4 friends.  We were all dressed up, Hezekiah was Indiana, Page was Dr. Jones, Eli was Short Round, Maggie Beth was dressed as Marion, and I was dressed as Elsa.  So when every one arrived at our home we greeted them in costume!  Then Hezekiah decided to ditch the costume, so we did too before our arrival at the O.G.
Oh, this little group of friends were too adorable!

Their conversations were adorable too, about math for a long time.  Kids even working out problems on their kiddie menus.  Then it changed to Star Wars trivia.  They were cracking me up.
And let me tell you some little boys can put away some food.....especially bread sticks!

They surprised Hezekiah with a candle and Andes mints.  And we sang to him at the O.G. too!
