Playing in the River at Horse Trough Falls

While we were shopping in the Nacoochee Village,
we got to talking to the owner of the Red Door. She suggested we visit Horse Trough Falls.
She said she took her grandchildren there to play in the river.
That our kids would most likely enjoy it.

Enjoy..........they did!
Loved, they did!
Horse Trough Falls is off the beaten path, 5 miles on a rocky road that meanders its way downhill.
Seven miles in the road was washed out, so we hoped that we would get to the Falls.
We did.
We also played in the river and looked for critters. I use to do this in Ohio, we would find crayfish in the creek.
We finally made it to the Falls, after a long while of playing and exploring the river.

While in Georgia we hiked a bit of the Appalachian Trail.
It was a cloudy morning up in the mountains.
A really neat thing to walk in the clouds.......
Old Sautee & Bubbles

Old Sautee not only had some cute, "old" country stores, but outside a pot of bubbles and bubble wands.
For my kids.........bubbles are like heaven!
Old Stores, kids, plus bubbles equals some cool photos too!
I also love the "old" time signs.

Well, I think I am just in love with these small little country stores.
After we went tubing down the Hootch, we had access to the water park the rest of the day.
It cost 15/person/day!
Which includes tubing the river unlimited times.
Pretty great deal.
All of us enjoyed the water park, we had a lot of fun!
I am not sure how many times I climbed the stairs to go down the water slides! I lost count......but my calves felt it the next day!
