Our Bear and Tiger Cubs

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, September 14, 2012 at 5:55 PM

After much protesting all summer to becoming a cub scout.......someone decided, "Hmmm, it sounds like fun, especially if my Daddy gets to come to meetings with me......and well, I can also be with my big brother."

So, we have a new cub in our house.  A tiger cub, Eli.

And Hezekiah has moved up to be a bear cub.

Alphabets

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 10:10 AM

Eli is a bit obsessed with the Pokemon letters, he has been spelling words with the Pokemon characters that correspond with our alphabet.

You can see in the bottom left corner what Kentucky looks like and above it the word at.

Funny thing is........I did not know there was a Pokemon alphabet.........

While he has been busy learning the Pokemon alphabet (I am sure it will come in good use one day as he sends secret codes all over the world),

his sister has been busy learning and spelling words with the help of mommy.

I am impressed with her writing and how she tries to sound out the words and spell them herself.

Below is an example of her work this morning.

And of course she loves me with all of the pickles in her heart.  :)

The floor of this room was clean last night before the two boys above went to bed.

This morning..................this is what I witnessed upon entering their room to tell them it was time for school.

Thanks Melanie!  ;)

Eli's 7th Birthday Party

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 6:38 PM

Here is my not so little guy.

The birthday boy!

I truly cannot believe that this Sunday he will be 7 years old.

My smallest baby, weighing in at 5 lbs. 14 1/2 ounces.  Arriving unexpectedly, one month early.....

How can this possibly be?

The sweetest little boy, who loves hugs, kisses, and all affection shown him.

You can not possibly be turning 7, so soon!

But yet, you are. And I am so in love with you and the wonderful young man you are becoming.

You truly care for your brother and sister and you look after your little sister like every big brother should!

You even look after that older brother too.

You are bold in character my Eli! God is continually creating you to be an awesome young person!

I look forward to what he grows you into.

I love that you are hiding His word in your heart.

Happy Birthday my little Li Fly!

You are truly the apple of my eye!

And thank you friends, for your willingness to share your time to help us celebrate this peanut!

Texas Roadhouse Field Trip

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11:27 AM

Today we went on a field trip to Texas Roadhouse to see the behind the scenes of how a restaurant works.

The kids got to make their own rolls.  And cut them out with a cookie cutter.

The hostess showed them how to know when a table is clean or not, how to place an order, and how to greet guests.

We also had a tour of the kitchen, no picture taking was allowed.

They showed the kids the prep areas for the food, showed them how the dish washer washes dishes in 90 seconds,

(that was impressive), showed them their huge walk-in fridge, showed them the butcher and where he cuts the meat all day (in a cold walk-in fridge, he even has to wear a parka), and they also showed them where they cook, grill, and bake their yummy bread.

We even got to say "Hi," to the chef making our lunches.

The waitresses/hostess also taught the kids the electric slide dance they do, played peanut basketball, and gave the kids tokens for a free meal.

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Monday, September 3, 2012 at 12:27 PM

Our little Eli is turning 7!!!  His birhday party is Wednesday!

He's pretty excited.  His real birthday is on the 9th.

He wanted a Pikachu cake for his party.

So that is what I have spent most of my time on today, other than birthday shopping!
