Maggie Beth's 3rd Birthday
Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 5:35 PM
May 14, a couple years ago I woke up with contractions.
This little girl was on her way into this world.
My world was changed from bringing up boys to now bringing up a sweet little girl.
Precious she is, beautiful, funny, and loveable all wrapped up in one gift that God gave me.
Today we celebrated with some little friends at Play Plus.
Thank you little and big friends for coming to help us celebrate.
We love you!
100 Lessons Complete!
Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 11:26 AM
Eli has completed his 100 Lessons.
He reads extremely well!
I used this same book for Hezekiah to teach him to read.
I highly recommend it.
So, it looks like someone will be selecting where we go to dinner for his reward!
Bye Bye Preschool.........Hello Kindergarten
Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 10:38 AM
It's hard to believe that I have another child entering grade school.
Eli graduated from preschool on Wednesday.
Oh, he is just about as adorable as they come!
His class (on the left-hand side) sang some songs and did some hand motions.
I could tell it was not really his thing or perhaps stage fright overtook my little buddy.
I could tell he was thinking, "Seriously, I need to get off this stage and fast!" My little buddy stood there and waited patiently though. Poor baby!
Here he is with his teacher. Again he is in front of a bunch of people, a bit scared I think. He bolted for Page after Page took his picture. He absolutely loved preschool and his friends. This morning he told me he missed preschool. (I will let you in on this little secret.......I loved preschool too......and if I could I would do it all again....it is pretty stinking fun!). But he is excited about doing Kindergarten at home in the fall.
Congratulations Eli!!! We love you sweet boy!

Accountability.....do we really desire it?
Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:18 AM
It's a question I have been pondering about the human race for a while now.
Do we really want accountability?
I think we must. I mean it is scarey right.......being accountable for your actions?
But overall, I think we do.
For example, I was a bit scared about homeschooling and then having my child tested. I mean, did I do the whole teaching thing justice? It is scarey. I was sweating it. Thankfully he did absolutely wonderful. Honestly, I believe it was God's doing because if you know me......I am far from perfect.....I mess up a lot!
But you know sometimes we would rather not like the accountability......especially when we have knowingly done wrong, disappointed someone, etc. But you know it is good if your heartaches about it........it's good to seek reconciliation.....you know the Holy Spirit is working. Oh, especially if you are a believer. Right? I know when I have either done something wrong accidentally or knowingly I ache about it until I get it right.
But I have been wondering about that.
We say we want accountability, but do we really?
Because, I have seen so many times this thing that trips me up about Christianity....(and it has been tripping me up for a few years now within the circle of believers)....when you are hurt and you point it out to the other believer it is sometimes returned not with humility and the seeking of forgiveness, but instead it's not taken care of, swept under the rug or even returned with insult. So what is that all about? I know it is not comfortable, but we are all fallen....maybe really I should just expect that and then perhaps my expectations of believers would not be so high. But I really think we (and yes, I am including myself....because I am sure I have tripped people up) should set a better example in loving one another.
So, I am turning the other cheek. I am really seeking to love and forgive and not let this whole thing trip me up. And keep myself grounded in His Word.
What about you?
What trips you up and what are you trying to do about it?
Hezekiah's new adventure this week. Trying Karate.
His take on it, "I like it better than anything ever!"
