Understanding Love at 2 1/2

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:55 AM

This morning I was reading to the kids from chapter 48 of our book, Leading Little Ones to God by Marian Schoolland.

The lesson titled, We Must Confess Our Sins.  It was about the Prodigal son.

One of the questions at the end of the reading was, "Why was the father so glad to see his son come back home?"

Maggie Beth answered, "Because his daddy and mommy love him."

I thought one of the boys would answer first, nope......it was Magpie!

Two and a half her age is, an incredible understanding of love.

Amazing!

I am thankful for God's love, it's never ending and it always welcomes us home.

Florida Snow Fall

SNOW

We got to see it fall in Ohio.

Here in Florida it looks more like Fall than Winter.

Today we read about snow, snow flakes, and snowmen.

We made some snow flakes too, see our snow fall.....

Bowling - A few days later

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 6:49 PM

We went bowling today.  We were suppose to go Thursday with home school fellowship, but us sickies could not make it.

We needed a day of rest to recover......I think we are still recovering but a bit healthier to venture out.

We got shoes.

Some bowling balls.

Some entertainment. With this motley crew.

Eli won.

Maybe it will be 2 years again before we go bowling?  Who knows, but we had fun bumpers and all.

Visiting Mommy's Classroom

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 6:42 PM

The kids, Page, and I went down to the campus this week to try out the multimedia I have in the classroom I will be lecturing in this Spring semester.  I am nervous, but it is exciting too.  The kids checked out the facility.  Maggie really enjoyed the skeleton and the models.  The boys, they liked the white board markers -- Eli the smell of the markers.......seriously gotta watch that kid.

Page's Workshop

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On at 6:37 PM

Some tools, screws, nails, bolts, nuts, busy little hands at work in Daddy's workshop.

While Page is working there are some little ones who enjoy tooling around.

Page has boxes with little items to play with out in our garage AKA wood working shop/workshop.

Tools that can keep little hands busy for hours.

ILARIOUS

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:53 AM

Do you have a thumb sucker in your house?

We do, the residents' name is Eli.

He has not been doing it as much lately, but this past weekend/week when he had been sick he was sucking his shumb shumb   (of course this is how he refers to his thumb, it's his favorite thumb too) a bit more.  I am sure for comfort.

I think it is a bit adorable.

Papaw razed Eli a bit while we were visiting.  I think Papaw is a bit silly or as my kids have picked up on their travels Northward, "ILARIOUS."  That is Hiliarious without the "H."  It is kind of funny how they say it.  They say, "That is so ilarious!"

But this little thumb sucking kid is adorable and well, since he is 5, and will need braces anyhow says the dentist......I will just choose that this is not a battle I want to conquer.  Probably because I think it is pretty stinking cute.
