Passover -- Unleavened Bread & Good Friday

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Friday, April 6, 2012 at 4:52 PM

Today we celebrated Passover by making some unleavened bread.
Page has been doing a Torah class (http://www.torahclass.com/) and well he has been learning a lot about the Jewish teachings and he has been teaching me a lot as we talk each day.  He has been doing this study for a year or so and he is almost done with Exodus.  Maybe one day I will dive into it with him.  But what he has been learning is super interesting and pretty downright controversial probably or at least debatable in some circles.  Anyhow, it is interesting and educational for Messianic Jews and we "Christians," to understand God's teachings from the Hebrew language.

So Page had e-mailed an unleavened bread recipe home today and said, "Let's make this tonight and read about the Passover and Jesus' death with the kids."
So we did.
The pictures show the making of the unleavened bread and the unleavened bread was delicious!

Maggie Beth's Classmates in Cupcakes & her brothers

To go along with Mrs. Wallace's cake, I made her and her students....this includes Maggie Beth.

Hezekiah and Eli are in the mix too, just because it is difficult to make all the other kids and not include them in cupcakes as well.

So I guess they will enjoy eating themselves!

Teacher Cake

This cake I made for Maggie Beth's preschool teacher this evening.

I really think it turned out so adorable.

I hope she likes it!

Would you?

Baby Chicks for a Week

Posted by Unknown | | Posted On Monday, April 2, 2012 at 10:45 AM

We have rented baby chicks for a week.

Today we picked them up from Adkin's Farm.  A family we know from our homeschool group.

The three baby chicks have been named: Hezekiah's is Boulder, Eli's is Chirp Chirp, and Maggie's is Sprinkle Cheese.

They are about adorable and all the way home from the farm we heard them chirp and all I heard from the backseat was, "I just can't stand it, ohhhhh they are so cute!"

Flower & Garden Festival

Epcot's flower and garden festival is inspiring to this non-green-thumbed girl!

I seriously cannot even keep a cactus alive.

But if I could "garden" these would be the types of gardens I would love to grow.

As for now, I will just garden the three little ones pictured above!  They are more lasting anyhow!

And I love them!

Butterfly Garden

Page and I were amazed at God's handiwork yesterday in each individual design of each unique flower.

Just look at the beauty of the blue passion flower.  Isn't it amazing?

Let alone, the whole metamorphosis of a little egg growing into a caterpillar, to a chrysalis, then to a gorgeous butterfly.

Just the order and design is magnificent.

To look at nature is to see God's amazing artistry and creation!

Just spectacular!

EPCOT: Flower & Garden Festival

After church yesterday we went over to Epcot for the Flower and Garden festival.

The gardens are so amazingly colorful.  Maggie Beth loved the pixie garden with Tinker Bell & friends.
