Eli's request as we ride in the car lately is number 4.

Please play number 4!

This morning while we took Magpie to preschool we listened once again to number 4, but to one young little guy, the whole CD is welcomed in his ears.

Mine too! 

So, it dawned on me when he asked, "Mommy, can we bring the CD inside so I can listen to it while I do my work?"  that I may not be the number one Burlap to Cashmere fan in our house!

Hence.........today's journal entry by the new number 1 fan. 

My mornings.........consist of spelling/vocabulary, copy work, math, language arts, history, test prep skills, Bible and studying other cultures, geography, fables, read-a-louds, independent reading times, time-lines, journal entries, breaks here and there, snack, LEGO digital designer, and science which sometimes includes experiments. 

Today's experiment.......making a thermometer and seeing if our ice cube in our "greenhouse" melts faster or slower than the ice cubes outside the "greenhouse." 

These are how my mornings go.......usually up only because children are awake somewhere around 7ish......then 2 young men start on the list above.   It is their work, not mine.  I just get to help teach in some way shape or form.

Most days work is done prior to 11 a.m., on a good day 10:15 a.m.  But some days are longer mostly due to a science experiment or two.  It sure is a good thing I like science!

"You've got mail."  Is what I heard a lot of this morning.

Last night I secretly placed out these adorable mailboxes (of which I can not take credit for.....I have stolen this idea from the W.D.'s they are linked here on my blog list).  These are a dollar each at target.

I put a note in each mailbox with a sticker for each little one from Page and I.

There was lots of excitement. 

Then the day started with school work. 

But around 10:30 a.m. when both boys were finished with their work, there was a flurry of mail activity.

Lots of creativity going on.  

Lots of Valentines and random toys placed in mailboxes from brother to sister, sister to brother, and brother to brother.

Valentines made for Mommy and Daddy.

Lots of love and lots of mail in our post office today. 

Some was delivered on tricycle, and some delivered by Dora big wheel.

A blessing that I far love that God has given me is time with my loves!

Today was kind of a spontaneous blessing.

I told Page yesterday, that I was thinking of going to Disney.....

and guess what.......he got to come too!

We had some happy kiddos and well, I was super happy too! 

It is just a lot of fun being together. 

Because if you know Page........he is pretty funny.

And makes me laugh a lot.

Certain little ones also get to be held more, get to sit with their seemingly favorite parent, "I want to sit with Daddy!"

I am like seriously what am I chopped liver here? 

But I agree.......I would want to sit with him too! 

I am thankful for a day to spend together!

Today we had Eli's Art class and homeschool fellowship.

 Eli did watercolors, he painted his mask, and created a people picture.

At homeschool fellowship I had the opportunity to teach map skills. 

I had all intentions of taking pictures of the kids creating the compass, using the compass, playing N,S,E,W or NE, SE, NW, SW outside after finding our bearings.  

They also filled in their compass rose, we sang a song about the continents and oceans too.

But since I was teaching and I forgot my camera, it was a bit difficult to take pictures during the class.

The kids also learned to read a map that I found on-line, see below.

And at the end of class the kids created a my planet to my address flip chart. 

I saw this idea on Pintrest.  

Next week we are going to have a Valentine Scavenger Hunt using our map skills we learned, and create topographical maps with sand.
