Today my mom and I took the kids down to the Smithsonian Marine Science Center in Fort Pierce.
It is free the first Tuesday of the month.
They have several different habitat aquariums and the different species of organisms that are specific to those  Florida offshore habitats.
The kids completed a scavenger hunt, matching up animals to their habitat.
A lady from the aquarium also walked us around to each habitat, explained about it and highlighted to us the animals and plants that live there.  They also fed the fish in each aquarium while she talked about them.  The kids enjoyed watching the fish, crabs, shrimp, lobsters, etc. eat!

They absolutely loved, loved, loved the touch tank.  They really enjoyed watching the Queen Conch turn themselves over and enjoyed watching the sea star turn itself over.  So cool.  Lots of hands on exploration.
