Lighthouse, Kaleidoscope, Cupcakes in a Contest

Thursdays seem to be my busiest day of the week.

Included this week were the making of a lighthouse with a flickering switch for the light to turn off and on.

Eli's designing of a kaleidoscope.

And on top of all their school work, a cooking contest for the homeschool fellowship that we are apart of.

Timing is critical on days like these, as to what should come first.........because on days like these every minute counts.

I am not sure if anyone else runs into that problem........I toss back in forth in my head which task should we try to accomplish first or can we start one project and then continue it later (and that is what had to occur with the cupcakes and the lighthouse).  Start the cupcakes, let them cook and then work on the lighthouse, after they cook let them cool and then after lunch decorate with icing, sprinkles, boats, toothpick pictures, etc.

It all worked out and for their efforts each child won a ten dollar gift certificate for the cooking contest.

Smiles all around!

I was thankful that I did not cut this out of our day, because it could have easily in my mind been thrown to the wayside and I had even contemplated not going...........but I would have cheated the kids out of winning a prize.  And they were sooooo excited to win.

We also got good news yesterday that Maggie Beth placed 3rd in the preschool recycled art contest at the zoo for her Flathead dinosaur.

There was victory all around our house, even with Page and I running a 5K.
