Welcoming Wee Ones and Ministering?

Mark 9:37 Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not only me but also my Father who sent me.

Matthew 18:5 And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.

These verses have been on my mind for a couple months now. I have been thinking about how do I go about welcoming the wee ones and ministering to those who do not feel well. Let's also see how the Churches (meaning the believers b/c the people are the Church) are doing with this and how we, individually are doing.......I think some "Churches" are doing splendid and others may be flailing because they have lost sight of their first love. It is time for evaluation.

You know, I encounter a lot of kids on a daily basis. Mainly 3 of my own.  Yes, I fail often. Perhaps talk harshly, raise my voice to them, and get frustrated at times.  If you are a close friend you have probably seen my frustration at times with my kids, which makes me sad and hence makes me evaluate how I am doing with my own spiritual growth.  Am I welcoming to my children?  Knowing that as I do I am welcoming my Father in Heaven?  That is powerful.  I desire to welcome what God has blessed me with always and forever. I absolutely love my children and I try to teach, play, guide, parent, and honor my Father in all that I do (Colossians 3:23....is my life verse). I also try to remember to welcome my friends children, hold the babies whose mommy/daddy needs a break, watch a wee one to help out another family, care for that child I am watching as I would want my children cared for and welcomed. You know practice the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have them do to you". Luke 6:31

So is that verse above being practiced by your fellow believers? It is good to evaluate. There is never anything wrong about sweeping out from what is under the rug and cleaning out those cobwebs. Like I said........I need to check myself too. I am being honest here!

Matthew 25:44 Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?'

Prayer is one of the ways in which God has called me to care for those who are sick. We have a mental list that we keep and I pray with the kids in the morning and Page and I pray for in the evening of those we know or really do not know very well, but know that they are in need of healing. I do not say this to draw any attention to what we are praying. I am just doing a spiritual evaluation here for myself to help me stayed focused on the IMPORTANT things in life. I think prayer and serving are important to those who are sick.

I wonder how if someone is sick why we would allow them discomfort and not a bed? Why would we not try to make them more comfortable but instead maybe just maybe make them feel worse. How are we doing with this? How am I doing with this? And if it is my child or your child who is sick or injured, hungry or thirsty, I would get them hold them tight, give them medicine, a drink, a cold rag on their sweet little head when they have a fever, care for them and love them, because feeling poo poo is for the birds. So if you saw a little one the ones I mentioned about welcoming before sick and in need of Mommy's or Daddy's love, would you minister to them? I pray I would.

We have a little boy Allexanda who we sponsor..........maybe you or your family would like to sponsor and welcome a little one too. Visit: http://www.compassion.com/
